CHICAGO BOTANIC GARDEN & RAVINIA
The Chicago Botanic Garden is a 385-acre living plant museum situated on nine islands in the Cook County Forest Preserves. It features 27 display gardens in four natural habitats.
The Botanic Garden has 50,000 members, the largest membership of any U.S. public garden, and is Chicago's 7th largest cultural institution and 12th-ranking tourist attraction.
Minutes away from the Botanic Garden is another north shore treasure Ravinia. In 1904 Ravinia Park was born as an amusement park .The park boasted a baseball diamond,electric fountain and casino building with dining rooms and a dance floor. Over 100 years later, Ravinia is the oldest outdoor music festival in North America and is known for presenting world-class music. The festival hosts events that span all genres from classical music to jazz to music theater over each three-month summer season.
This weekend July 1 & 2 The Botanic Garden Art Festival takes place at The Garden on the Esplanade. Members Only Preview Friday June 30 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
